Meet our 2023 summer interns!

Luke Jennings
Summer Intern
Luke Jennings is interning in many different departments here at QCBT this summer. He is from Eldridge, IA and is currently in his senior year at the University of Iowa studying finance. He chose QCBT because "I love the way the bank supports the community." Luke is most excited to learn about how each department is run and getting the opportunity to take in all the new experiences. A fun fact about Luke is he is a diehard Hawkeye fan!

Madison Lindsey is a human resources intern at QCBT this summer. She is from Alpha, IL and is currently in her senior year at Western Illinois University studying communications. She chose QCBT because "even in my first interview, I could tell that the environment was so positive and the people I would be working with were so friendly." Madison is most excited to learn all the different aspects of what happens in her department and building her professional network. A fun fact about Madison is that she is graduating a year early!

Summer Intern
Samantha Coennen is a marketing intern at QCBT this summer. She is from Chicago, IL and just graduated from St. Ambrose University with her bachelor's degree in marketing. She chose QCBT because "I love how everyone here is so welcoming and involved in the community". Sam is most excited to be a part of all the events the marketing department is involved in this summer. A fun fact about Sam is that she will be attending St. Ambrose University again in the fall to start her MBA!

Stephen Bonin is a commercial lending intern this summer at QCBT. He is from Bettendorf, IA and is currently in his senior year at University of Northern Iowa studying finance and management information systems. Stephen chose QCBT because "they strive for having close relationships with all their clients and making each transaction with a customer meaningful". He is most excited to learn about how the bank operates from a lending point of view and how each department interconnects with each other to make it all happen. A fun fact about Stephen is he has never broken a bone!

Summer Intern
Lucy Rector is also interning in many different departments here this summer at QCBT. She is from Moline, IL, and will be a junior at the University of Iowa studying finance and accounting. Lucy chose QCBT because "the welcoming environment and great people. I am also excited to be rotating between different departments which has allowed me to learn so much." Lucy is most excited to learn about the loan process. A fun fact about Lucy is she has a dog named Lucky!

Bella Vondracek is a summer teller at QCBT. Bella is from LeClaire, IA and is currently a sophomore at the University of Iowa double majoring in psychology and sociology with minors in trauma mitigation and women and gender studies. She chose QCBT because "I thought it would be a great way to practice skills that apply to my future career aspirations, and I appreciated the fact that the company is community oriented." She is excited to learn more about cultivating customer relationships. Bella's favorite summer activity is spending time with friends and family while she is home from school!

Summer Intern
Eric Zabel is interning this summer as a summer teller at the Bauer branch. Eric is from Bettendorf, IA and is currently attending Winona State University in MN. He chose QCBT for his internship to learn what the daily experience is like as a banker and how big businesses use marketing to build relationships with clients and other businesses. He is extremely excited by the opportunity to shadow other departments of the bank and learn how they work together and support each other. One fun fact about him is that from May 13-23rd, he visited Europe for the very first time on a school trip. He also has two rabbits at home, Evie and Marsh Malone.

Summer Intern
Jacob Brown is interning this summer as summer teller at the Brady Street location. He is from Roanoke, IL. It's about 2 hours SE of the Quad Cities, but he is living in Rock Island for the summer. Jacob attends Augustana College where he is going to be a junior, studying political science, history, and business with a minor in Spanish. Jacob is excited about his internship because it seemed like a great opportunity and the company culture at QCBT is one he can really get behind. He's had a lot of fun here so far! Before working at QCBT, he had rarely ever gone in person to a bank before, so the entire process of what happens behind the teller line is very interesting to him. A fun fact about him is, "Puedo hablar mas o menos fluente en espanol." - Or, he can more or less speak fluent Spanish!

Luke Wareham is a summer teller intern this summer. He is from Bettendorf, IA and is in his sophomore year at the University of Richmond. He intends to major in business administration with focus in finance. He chose QCBT for his internship because it allowed him a great opportunity to have a local internship aligned with his intended major. He is most excited to learn about the different departments within the bank and how commercial banks operate. A fun fact about Luke is that he is the youngest of four siblings!
